The Dragonball Evolution movie trailer has left us skeptical about a live-action remake of the beloved cartoon series, so Backyard FX had to make things right. As a true Dragonball Z fan, Erik had no choice but to build the Piccolo costume and make-up that is true to the original cartoon! Every morning, Jonathan Coulton’s radio alarm clock would bring him the smooth, polished tones of Johnson’s voice, which got JoCo wondering what kind of secret double life a guy like Johnson must lead. Now we know. For my video, I made Johnson a television news anchor instead of a radio host because a video about a guy talking into a microphone would be really boring. Terry Gross is the host of NPR’s wonderful show Fresh Air. Does Ms. Gross lead a secret double life like Soterios Johnson? We don’t know that she doesn’t… I’d like to thank my co-creative director Nick Bayhi for helping with many of the WoW news gags shown in the video. I also want to give special thanks to the members of the real Action Nine News guild on the Whisperwind server.
